Thousand Stars have announced that they will be launching their EP,Satellites, with a series of gigs that will see them play Inverness (twice) as well as Lossiemouth, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Starting with a return to Madhatters, the 6th of January will see the official launch of the LP. It also marks guitar player, and Thousand Stars mastermind, Marc Davison’s birthday, so plenty opportunity for celebration. James Mackenzie has just announced that he will be joining forces with Belfast duo The 1930s for a co-headline UK tour opening in Edinburgh on February 9. The seven date outing will support his forthcoming acoustic mini-album Curtain Road, which is scheduled for release on February 7, which was produced by Grammy Award winner Steve Orchard. James described the recording as “definitely my strongest material to date and I just can’t wait to get it out there.” The 1930s (Andrew Cameron and Jonny Solari) have taken the Belfast scene by storm with folky hooks, infectious melodies and captivating live shows. … Read more

Midnight Glory are finishing 2011 on a high with a slot at the WInter Showcases, so what does guitar year for the band, Michael Kay, think of the year? What’s your involvement in the music scene? Gig goer I guess and musician in a band, Midnight Glory. How has 2011 been for you musically? For new music, good, such as Fatherson.
