All in all a great evening – have not laughed so much in ages.

Mumford and Sons in the back of a van in the centre of Inverness
Leddra connected well with her audience, was down to earth and genuine, a name to look out for in the future…
Mumford and Sons return to the Highlands in a blaze of glory.
Dan Antopolski does not have the easiest name to say however as a comedian he should be an easy sell when he comes up to the Ironworks on the 25th of March. We are not sure wether he has officially changed his name to “Triple Perrier Nominated” Dan Antopolski, but it’s hard to escape the fact that he has indeed been nominated for the award a couple (sorry three) times. He has also been about a bit (in the nicest possible way, although we can not verify one way or the other about anything else) although has not done as … Read more
A cold Saturday night in the Morayshire countryside witnessed the return of Glasvegas. The Loft, or to be more accurate, the barn at the back of the Loft, was the venue for the most anticipated gig (so far!) of 2011. With tickets stating that doors would be open at 6.30, early arrivals were left out in the bitter cold until just after 7, with the support from Iain MacLaughlin setting foot on stage at 8. A solo performance, without his Outsiders, was mainly well received by, at this stage, a full house. His half hour set was full of drive … Read more
What’s your name? Emos aka invernessGiGs aka Chris Lemon Who are you? I am the creator of invernessGiGs. How do you fit into the music scene of Inverness? I don’t really, invernessGiGs was created to challenge traditional ways of promoting music and accessing news on the music scene in Inverness. It’s working!! invernessGiGs advert What was the best bit of 2010? I have two: John Otway’s set at Belladrum 2010, showed a new audience exactly who this Otway guy was. In a world of manufactured tunes and persona, John’s wit and personality shines through his obviously limited music talent. There … Read more
Thursday night saw the arrival of Mt Desolation in Inverness before an attentive, about 3/4 audience in Hootanannys. Although I missed most of her set, I must make mention of the first act on stage, Rachel Sermanni. When I entered Hoots, other than the sound of Rachel and her band, a hush had descended the venue. So much so that I found myself whispering my order at the bar! I last saw Rachel supporting Stornoway at the same venue earlier this year, and now that she has a band behind her she can go from strength to strength. Although they have yet to build up the togetherness and chemistry … Read more
Little Buddha attracted a decent amount of people into Mad Hatters on what was a musically busy Inverness night Little Buddha kept the gaze and ear of the assembled crowd with a mix of stage presence, a rhythmic and captivating sound (credit to the sound engineers for keeping a potentially difficult to manage sound really well balanced) and some damned fine tunes actually!! The set list was a mix of tracks from the beautifully produced songs from the debut album TWISTED and some others that were new and unheard in these parts at least – definate highlights in the set were the opening song titled Karma? and the stripped … Read more
